Do you know how to read a nutritional label?
Reading the Label
1. Look at the serving size - measure if you are unsure. Often a container or bag will have more than 1 serving of food. 2. Check the calories. 3. Examine the amount of fat, cholesterol, and sodium are contained with the product. Is it a High or Low % of your daily value? 4. Look at the vitamins and minerals listed. 5. Look at the total carbohydrate count. Pay attention to the amounts of Dietary Fiber and Sugars (natural and added). Read the Ingredient List Carefully:

Reflection...
When is the last time you read a label on your favorite food. Stop and read nutritional labels and determine if you are making smart choices. Can you pronounce all the ingredients on the label?
Look at a common product you buy (such as chips, crackers, popcorn, etc.) -what is considered a serving of this item? Do you typically eat just 1 serving at a time (or is it more or less)?
